If you’ve driven by the Annapolis Mall lately, you may have noticed a very large, very colorful addition to the parking lot outside of the former Nordstrom’s storefront. The Do Portugal Circus is in Annapolis through November 19th, with many more shows at the Capital Plaza in Landover Hills, (November 24- December 10), following their Annapolis run.
The Do Portugal Circus is named after their founding family, the Portugal Family, who have been performing for five generations, and opened their first tent in 1950.
The Do Portugal Circus brings together a talented ensemble of performers, each a master of their craft. From acrobats defying gravity to clowns going for laughs, every act adds something special to this classic family-friendly outing.
Kids will love this pre-holiday treat featuring:
- Trapeze and Aerial Silks Performers
- Magician and Quick Change Acts
- Motorcyclists in the Globe of Death
…and many more acts!
Annapolis Moms are talking about this event and here are some of the tips we have heard from you so far:
- Dress in layers as some folks have been cold (and some warm!) inside the tent
- Concessions are reasonably priced–always a plus for families. Think $3 hot chocolate, $5 small popcorn, $5 hot dog., etc.
- Not a bad seat in the house!
- About an hour and a half runtime–manageable even for the littles!
- Cash and cards accepted.
