Have you ever wondered who in your community is helping shape your kid’s future? Who can inspire them to make the world a better place in practical ways?
The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s (CFAAC) 2024 Young Volunteer of the Year Award recipient, Tara Chase is one of those people. Through her 2,000+ hours of volunteer service with Happy Helpers for the Homeless, Tara provides critical support to those in need and serves as a beacon for kids and teens. Her leadership, whether making lunches or recruiting peers to join her efforts, fosters pivotal opportunities for others, inspiring and showing young people how giving back can create lasting change in their communities.
“Everyone here is in awe of Tara and her goodness,” said Helpers for the Homeless Executive Director Bobbi Coffman. “We rely on her. We treasure her. She brings love, hope, food, and necessities directly to men, women, and children in the streets in Anne Arundel County. She is already a Happy Helpers legend.”
According to Give Young, inspiring youth with philanthropy cultivates empathy and compassion, and giving can provide us all with a sense of purpose and community. Families can celebrate and be inspired by those making a difference at the CFAAC’s 2024 Celebration of Philanthropy at Live! Casino Hotel on October 30 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
For nearly 25 years, the CFAAC’s Celebration of Philanthropy Awards Luncheon has honored individuals, businesses, groups, and foundations who have demonstrated outstanding generosity and community leadership. This prestigious event plays a major role in amplifying philanthropy in Anne Arundel County by shining a spotlight on those who go above and beyond to support our community.
Awards will be presented in the following categories: Philanthropists of the Year, Corporate Philanthropist of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, Boots on the Ground, Carol Thompson Lifetime Achievement, and Legacy Award for Planned Giving.
CFAAC is a philanthropic organization dedicated to inspiring and promoting giving locally “by connecting people who care with causes that matter.” Tickets are on sale through October 24 or until the event sells out and include an entree. This is the perfect way to kick off or further your philanthropic efforts!
