May 28, 2026 by Elizabeth Krischer

So what IS the official unofficial start of summer? Is it Memorial Day? Commissioning week? The first day that breaks 90°? (If so, that was a while ago! Gotta love Maryland!) Or is it the last day of school? No matter how or when you start your summer, we’ve got some ways to save!

  • Customer Appreciation Celebration at Scout & Molly’s Boutique, Annapolis Town Center. They’ll have refreshments, storewide discounts, and a free anniversary gift with purchases of $50 or more! Only on 5/30 and 5/31.
  • 50% off ready-made frames at Wimsey Cove Framing, Annapolis Design District. Maybe you decided to get some family or grad photos done at one of these Annapolis spots…if so, frame it! Ends 6/30
  • Discounted life jackets for pets at PAWS at the Mall, Annapolis Mall. Keep your pups safe on the water this summer, including those Chesapeake Bay retrievers.
  • $3.99/lb. for yellow peaches at Whole Foods, Annapolis Town Center. Yes, this is the time of year when Gen Xers and elder millennials will probably have “Peaches” stuck in their head. Ends 6/2
  • Earn 4x points on dairy-section items and select snack items at Safeway, various locations. Ends 6/11
  • Also at Safeway, earn 12x points when purchasing a Wayfair gift card. Get a gift for someone decorating their new apartment, and earn points to use at the gas pump! Expires 5/31

Being a positive rol

Being a positive role model can make a big difference for your kids. Forming healthy habits, including how much screen time, children tend to follow what they see at home.

We know it’s not always easy - phones are part of everyday life - but constant scrolling can send mixed messages about limits. Research continues to link excessive screen time with mental health challenges, especially in children and teens.

One simple step? Put your device down and join them. Even a few minutes of screen-free play can go a long way in showing what balance looks like.

If you’re looking for a pediatrician to support your child’s well-being, the team our community supporter SP Docs is here for you. Call them at 410-647-8300 to learn more.
