Yes, we are Annapolis MOMS, but we still love our dads! With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, June 21, we know many families are looking for fun and thoughtful ways to celebrate. We’ve compiled a list of gift ideas, experiences, and events that the special dad in your life will love.
Gifts
For the man who likes to be dressed to the nines, check out MRE Mercantile, Jos. A. Bank, The Lucky Knot, and The Black Dog. MRE Mercantile is also hosting a Father’s Day Open House on Thursday, June 18, at 5:30 PM, with food and beverages served, making it an easy stop for gift shopping and a little pre-Father’s Day celebration. Looking for a more relaxed or athletic fit? Some of the prior stores do have casual attire, and you can find even more options at Helly Hansen, Fleet Feet, and Charm City Run.
For the art lover, check out Woodcraft Artisans in downtown Annapolis. This shop specializes in nautical charts carved into wood and 3D maps. The Annapolis Pottery store has been offering handcrafted goods since 1969, with hundreds of options ranging from bowls and soap dispensers to decorative pieces and mugs.
For the reader, there are several book stores in the area. Back Creek Books offers rare and hard-to-find books, making it a great stop for the historian. Third Eye Comics has an expansive selection for the comic book lover, while Old Fox Books, a community staple, has everything from classic to new releases.
Experiences
How about taking dad out to the ballgame? The Chesapeake Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, play at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, just a short drive from Annapolis. The Baysox are home on Sunday, June 21, at 1 PM against the Richmond Flying Squirrels and will celebrate Father’s Day with a special barbecue. Can’t make it that day? Individual game tickets, group tickets and season tickets are also available. Purchase tickets now!
The Annapolis Blues, who continue to make waves in the community, will host a special Father’s Day celebration as well, with a men’s and women’s doubleheader on June 21. Adult tickets are $18.50 and children’s tickets are $13.50, with the first game kicking off at 5 PM. Groups of 10 or more can purchase group tickets, or you can go all out by securing a suite.
With golf season in full swing, the links are always a great option! But when you can’t take the heat, X-Golf is a great indoor alternative! Located near Annapolis Towne Centre and Westfield Annapolis, this indoor golf simulator brings a high-tech golf experience close to home. Each simulator can accommodate up to six players, and the location has seven simulators total. Players can book by the hour, with the average solo golfer completing 18 holes in about an hour. Tee times can be booked online. Pricing is $65 per hour for groups and $45 per hour for single players. Memberships are also available: $1,600 for three months or $6,000 per year, both of which include discounts on food, drinks and in-store merchandise.
Looking for something more laid-back? You can’t go wrong with a night (or day) at the movies! The AMC Annapolis Mall 11 and Landmark at Annapolis Harbour offer the newest releases and bring back classics for special showings. With reclining, cushy seats, Dad will feel like a king.

The Dawson’s Father’s Day 10k, hosted by the Annapolis Striders, has been combined with the B&A Trail 10K and will take place on Father’s Day. For $15, runners can take part in this out-and-back course on the B&A Trail. Same-day registration is $25. The race begins at 8 AM at Severna Park High School, with packet pickup opening at 6:30 AM.
At the end of the day, you know Dad best. While we have plenty of ideas here, trust your instincts and make sure he knows how appreciated he is this year.
